We're here to help.
Documentation, setup guides, and a real person to email if you get stuck.
Documentation
Pair a screen, build layouts and playlists in the studio, then schedule what plays and when. See how CastWize works for the full walkthrough.
Step By Step Guide
The whole path from uploading media to a live screen, with real screenshots at every step. See the step-by-step guide.
API reference
A public API lets you view screens and playlists, and assign content to a screen — authenticated with an API key from Settings. See the API documentation for how to get a key and what's available.

Setup by OS
Android
Available now- 1. Install the CastWize Player app on the Android device.
- 2. Launch it — a pairing code appears on screen.
- 3. In CastWize Studio, go to Screens → Add Screen and enter the code.
This is a direct download, not from the Play Store yet — Android will warn about installing from an unknown source the first time. Tap "Settings" on that warning, then allow installs from this source, then continue.
Windows
Available now- 1. Download and run the CastWize Player installer for Windows.
- 2. Launch it — a pairing code appears on screen.
- 3. In CastWize Studio, go to Screens → Add Screen and enter the code.
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen will show "Windows protected your PC." Click "More info," then "Run anyway" to continue.
macOS
Available now- 1. Open the CastWize Player .dmg and drag it into Applications.
- 2. Launch it — a pairing code appears on screen.
- 3. In CastWize Studio, go to Screens → Add Screen and enter the code.
This build isn't notarized yet, so Gatekeeper will say it's "from an unidentified developer." Right-click the app → Open, then confirm, to run it the first time. Apple Silicon (M-series) only for now — an Intel build isn't available yet.
Linux
Available now- 1. Download the CastWize Player AppImage, then make it executable: chmod +x castwize-player-linux-v0.1.0.AppImage.
- 2. Run it — a pairing code appears on screen.
- 3. In CastWize Studio, go to Screens → Add Screen and enter the code.
Built for x86_64 desktop/kiosk Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+ or equivalent) — not ARM boards like Raspberry Pi (see the separate Raspberry Pi download below). No installer needed; the AppImage runs directly.
Raspberry Pi
Available now- 1. On a 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS install, download the AppImage and make it executable: chmod +x castwize-player-raspberrypi-v0.1.0.AppImage.
- 2. Run it — a pairing code appears on screen.
- 3. In CastWize Studio, go to Screens → Add Screen and enter the code.
Pi 4 (4GB+) or Pi 5 with 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS — earlier boards aren't recommended. Video plays back in software rather than using the Pi's hardware decoder, so test with your real content before relying on this for busy multi-zone or high-bitrate video playlists.
iOS / iPadOS
Coming soonNative player support for iOS / iPadOS is coming soon.
Cyber security
A few things we actually do to keep your account safe.
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — CastWize never stores your password in plain text.
- Two-factor authentication (TOTP) is available on every account.
- Google Sign-In is supported as an alternative to a password.
- API keys are stored as one-way hashes — the full key is shown to you only once, at creation.
- Every account action is recorded in a full audit log.
- Sessions are managed per device, with a "sign out everywhere" option if you ever need it.
